The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of wood materials, joinery techniques, finishing methods, and modern woodworking machinery , ensuring that all production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and cost-efficiency .

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production activities for all wooden furniture lines.
• Develop and execute production plans based on sales forecasts and inventory requirements
• Lead, supervise, and mentor supervisors, line leaders, and shop floor workers.
• Plan skill enhancement workshops for carpenters, polishers, and machine operators
• Review and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste
• Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen principles in wood-based operations
• Educate production staff on best wood handling and storage practices
• Deep understanding of different types of wood (plywood, MDF, solid wood, veneer, etc.) and their characteristics
• Ensure correct usage of adhesives, finishes (PU, melamine, NC), and hardware specific to wooden furniture
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to warping, expansion, joint failures, or finishing defects
• Participate in pre-production meetings for new product introductions
• Maintain clear communication with Planning & Warehouse teams for material flow.
• Maintain machinery logs and ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Wood Technology
• 7+ years in production management within wooden furniture or wood-based product manufacturing.
• Proven experience in leading large-scale furniture production floors with high-volume output
• Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery (e.g., panel saws, CNC, band saws, edge banders, sanders).
• Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably SAP or Oracle) for production tracking.
• Ability to read technical drawings and translate them into actionable production steps

• Compliance – Ensure compliance to the regulatory requirements. Ensure all internal and external audits are conducted according to SOPs and guidelines. Monitor production and chemical consumption variances and device strategy to stay compliant.
• Agility and Innovation – Remove waste and constraints from the production processes to improve efficiencies / effectiveness and enhance productivity by encouraging and promoting continuous improvement environment at the plant. Suggest/propose any development ideas for improvement in equipment or process. Lead production team to drive application of effective and efficient techniques to deliver on time completion of targets.
• Training and Development – Keep up to date with latest technologies and developments to ensure that our teams are equipped with best knowledge and has access to relevant expertise, and facilities.
• Cost Effectiveness – Manage department within agreed budgets and continuously explore ways to optimize costs.
  
  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical / Mechanical discipline.
• Proven experience in operations within process industry for more than 10 years, preferably a chemical/process industry; international experience would be a plus.
