Job Description

Education: LLB, preferably with a LLM/Master’s degree in management.

Experience: At least 12 to 15 years of progressive experience as Legal Advisor, in a public listed company/industry or a large organization with thorough understanding of SECP and SBP regulations.

Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execution of key legal processes that relate to legal drafting, negotiations, and commercial settlement of agreements, while managing team of junior lawyers.
  • Act as a mentor to legal department personnel, encouraging their professional growth, and grooming them for the occupation of his position in future.
  • Manage legal risk within the business by taking responsibility for providing legal advice to the senior leadership on all legal matters affecting their individual departmental transactions.

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams towards a unified direction along with the other senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to negotiate any transactional documents such as mergers and acquisitions, contract acquisitions, service level agreements etc.
  • Ability to draft and manage complex patent, trademark, and regulatory documentation, handling such matter with ease in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Instruct and assist external legal partners where necessary identifying potential legal risks and assessing the issues impacting legal risk, which ensures that all of the business’s risk management approaches are viable.
  • Work with departmental leadership across the company in identifying and managing potential legal risk, such as HR in review of existing employment agreements, contracts, and documentation and suggest/implement improvements.
  • Review various notices received from Labor Departments, Municipal and other regulators Departments and prepare replies thereof.
  • Advise Overdue Litigation Team on potential risks/legal insights as and when required.

What is Legal Counsel Contracts?


The key function of this role is to provide dedicated legal support select functional departments within Jazz, entailing consultation, advice, contract review and negotiation in line with the organization’s internal values, policies, procedures and applicable law and to do so independently and decisively.   • Experience of independently handling court cases at various Legal Forums including, but not limited to, High Courts, Labour courts and Regulatory authorities.
  • Experience of reviewing pleadings and legal notice drafts. Must have the ability to prepare applications, respond to legal notices and other correspondence with several authorities and business partners/consumers.
  • Experience with insurance, OTT platforms, fintech and other digital initiatives would be an advantage
  • Bar at Law/LLM/LLB Degree with at least 3-5 years working experience in Regulatory and Corporate Litigation and sound knowledge of the laws of Pakistan in general & telecom, fintech, media, entertainment, insurance laws in particular and anticipated litigation therefrom. Corporate experience will be a plus.

Requirements

What are we looking for and what does it require to be Legal Counsel Litigation (HQ)?

  • Experience of independently handling court cases at various Legal Forums including, but not limited to, High Courts, Labour courts and Regulatory authorities.
  • Experience of reviewing pleadings and legal notice drafts. Must have the ability to prepare applications, respond to legal notices and other correspondence with several authorities and business partners/consumers.
  • Experience with insurance, OTT platforms, fintech and other digital initiatives would be an advantage
  • Bar at Law/LLM/LLB Degree with at least 3-5 years working experience in Regulatory and Corporate Litigation and sound knowledge of the laws of Pakistan in general & telecom, fintech, media, entertainment, insurance laws in particular and anticipated litigation therefrom. Corporate experience will be a plus.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Drafting and analytical skills.
  • Research skills with sound knowledge about various contracts arrangements, in-depth knowledge of company laws and telecom, fintech, insurance and media/entertainment regulations.
  • Knowledge of litigation management and know how about Tech & Telecom Industry Litigation.
  • Has the ability to handle court matters independently.
  • Should be able to get early disposals.
  • Advance communication skills for managing cross-functional projects.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Legal Assistant at Farani Taylor Solicitors in Lahore. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for legal document preparation, communication with clients and internal teams, administrative assistance, and supporting solicitors in their daily tasks. We are expanding our team, please do not apply if you have already applied. Only apply if you have completed your studies. This is a full-time on-site role with working hours from 2pm to 11pm in winter and 1pm to 10pm in summer.
