Your New Role: The Senior Director of Asset Config and Configuration Management will play a pivotal leadership role within the Service Management Engineering organization, reporting directly to the VP, Service Management Engineering. Based in Hyderabad, this role will lead global teams responsible for Configuration Management and Enterprise Asset Management, including both direct and indirect reports.
The Senior Director will be accountable for the strategic direction, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of configuration and asset data management across Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), leveraging the ServiceNow platform as a foundational technology. This leader will ensure the integrity, availability, and value of configuration and asset data to support IT Service Management (ITSM), compliance, audit, and business operations. The role requires a seasoned leader with deep expertise in ServiceNow CMDB, automated discovery, asset lifecycle management, and enterprise data governance.
Your Role Accountabilities Leadership & Strategy- Lead global Configuration and Asset Management teams, including managers and their teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Define and execute the strategic roadmap for Configuration and Asset Management, aligned with enterprise ITSM goals and business priorities.
- Serve as a key advisor to the VP of Service Management Engineering, contributing to strategic planning and enterprise service management transformation.
- Champion the use of ServiceNow as the enterprise platform for CMDB and Asset Management, ensuring alignment with platform governance and architecture standards.
- Oversee the health, accuracy, and completeness of the ServiceNow CMDB and associated Master Data Repositories (MDRs).
- Drive automation and efficiency through ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and integration with inventory and procurement systems.
- Ensure robust data ingest, normalization, and reconciliation processes to maintain data integrity across the asset and configuration estate.
- Lead the development and enforcement of configuration and asset data standards, policies, and audit controls, including SOX compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including Information Security, Audit, Compliance, Procurement, and Application Portfolio Management.
- Act as the executive sponsor for configuration and asset data governance, ensuring stakeholder requirements are met and value is delivered.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to support enterprise initiatives such as service mapping, software license compliance, and asset lifecycle optimization.
- Represent the function in internal and external audits, vendor negotiations, and executive reporting.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to asset and configuration data quality, discovery coverage, and audit readiness.
- Lead initiatives to improve data quality, reduce operational risk, and enhance service delivery through better visibility and control of IT assets and services.
- Conduct regular audits and recertification cycles to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process automation, cost reduction, and improved user experience across the asset and configuration lifecycle.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of managers and professionals, fostering career growth and technical excellence.
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-trust team culture across global locations.
- Ensure appropriate staffing, training, and succession planning to support current and future business needs.
- 12+ years of experience in IT Service Management, Configuration Management, or Asset Management, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience managing global teams and leading enterprise-scale CMDB and Asset Management programs.
- Deep expertise in ServiceNow, including Discovery, CMDB, Service Mapping, and IT Asset Management (ITAM) modules.
- Strong understanding of ITIL practices, data governance, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX).
- Demonstrated success in driving automation, data quality, and operational excellence in complex IT environments.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- ITIL v4 Managing Professional or Strategic Leader certification.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in CMDB, Discovery, or ITAM.
- Experience in media, entertainment, or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture, procurement, and software asset management practices.
