Experience: B. Sc. Engineers 5 ~ 8 years. DAE Mechanical / B.Tech 7 ~ 10 years.

Should be familiar with:

1. Design Codes ASME Sec VIII Div I & Div II.
2. API 650, API 620, UL-58, UL-42, B16.5 & B31.3 etc.
3. OGRA, Explosives & NFPA rules for LPG & Fuels (PMG / HSD etc.)

Software Skills:

Basic knowledge of Codeware Compress, PV Elite, AMETank, AutoCAD and other Design Software together with expert level knowledge of Excel, Power Point and other MS Office packages.

Job Description:

1. Minutely study RFQs and highlight clarifications required from clients.
2. Communicate with clients to ensure that bids are according to client requirements.
3. Hands on experience in preparation of layouts / cutting plans.
4. Preparation of Cost Estimates, technical and commercial proposals according to specifications in RFQs.
5. Prepare Project Budgets based on approved proposals.
6. Good knowledge of contracts.
7. Preparation of Presentations & Reports.

Bachelors Mechanical, Automotive experience required.

Environmental and Safety Compliance: Ensure that manufacturing processes adhere to environmental regulations and safety standards, with a focus on sustainability and worker safety.

Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.

Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to identify and implement process improvements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.

Project Management: Manage projects related to process improvements, technology integration, and facility enhancements, ensuring timely completion and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

Proven experience in automotive manufacturing engineering or a related role.

Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.

Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques.

Familiarity with automotive quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Project management experience is preferred.

The Opportunity

This role provides direction to the Manufacturing and Finishing Operations team at the Korangi Plant in Karachi. Reporting to the Operations Director, this position is responsible for ensuring compliance with local Regulatory requirements, cGMP, EHS & and Abbott Quality standards during manufacturing and finishing operations.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and Monitor Operational Plan for Optimum utilization of Resources i.e. Material, Labour & Overheads
• Ensure that products are manufactured under conditions that meet Abbott Policies, EHS Standards, and Regulatory and cGMP requirements.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, security standing orders & code of Business conduct.
• Ensure provision of the necessary resources (area, equipment, workforce, etc.) to produce products of the required quality.
• Ensure that required initial and continuing training of production personnel including GMP training is carried out and adapted according to need.
• Provide strategic direction in Mfg. technology and equipment. Ensure that maintenance of premises and equipment, calibrations, and Process Validation are performed and recorded.
• Coordinate with Quality regarding QA Audits, CAPA, Complaints, ERs, Market Returns, and Trend Analysis Reports, etc.
• Coordinate with QA, Regulatory, Technical Centre, Engineering, and Supply Chain in the resolution of quality problems, disposition of nonconforming issues, and ensure uninterrupted product deliveries to Commercial.
