Role Purpose:
- The Manager Project Management will be responsible for the end-to-end management of Data Center Construction (DCC) projects, ensuring timely delivery, highest quality execution within defined budgets, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. This role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of project execution from initiation to handover, while acting as the key interface between internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
The role involves frequent travelling to relevant locations of Data Centre, i-e, Karachi or Faisalabad. The incumbent will be required to stay in Cities of Data Center Construction for up to 6 months (or as needed).
Key Responsibilities:
Project Initiation & Management
- Lead end-to-end management of Data Center Construction projects from initiation to closure.
- Define project scope, deliverables, success criteria, timelines, and budgets.
- Develop and manage project charters, work breakdown structures (WBS), and project schedules
- Ensure alignment with internal policies, procedures, and strategic goals.
Civil Work
Oversee all
civil construction activities for Data Center buildings
, including:
- Site preparation, excavation, foundation works, and structural construction.
- Supervision of architectural finishes, fire-rated partitions, raised flooring, false ceilings, and other interior works
- Ensuring compliance with seismic, fire safety, and building codes applicable to mission-critical facilities.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors for design validation and implementation.
- Ensure timely readiness of civil infrastructure for subsequent E&M installations.
Electrical & Mechanical Installations
- Oversee installation of all Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) equipment in DCC facilities.
- Ensure proper implementation of power feeds, HV/LV electrical distribution systems, HVAC, fire suppression and other utilities/critical systems
- Coordinate with technical teams for equipment commissioning and testing
Timely Construction & Delivery
- Drive on-time construction of DCC buildings as per approved project plans with highest quality standards
- Track milestones and KPIs, proactively identifying and mitigating risks and delays.
- Escalate and resolve issues impacting delivery timelines.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the single point of contact between internal teams and external contractors/vendors.
- Facilitate effective cross-department collaboration to ensure smooth project execution.
Contract & Vendor Management
- Collaborate with Planning & Procurement departments in vendor selection and contract finalization.
- Monitor contractor/vendor performance and enforce compliance with SLAs.
- Manage change orders, claims, and contract variations effectively.
Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to quality standards at every stage of construction and installation.
- Implement inspection processes and ensure non-conformities are rectified promptly.
External Approvals & Compliance
- Obtain necessary NOCs, permits, and approvals from government and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, telecom infrastructure standards, and contractual obligations.
Reporting & Documentation
- Provide regular progress updates and dashboards to senior management.
- Maintain complete documentation for audits, compliance, and project handover.
Delivery & Handover
- Manage project close-out process, ensuring successful delivery and acceptance by Operations/Maintenance teams.
- Conduct lessons-learned sessions and ensure knowledge transfer.
