Be responsible for ensuring the stable, secure, and efficient day-to-day functioning of Oracle database systems across production, disaster recovery, and staging environments. This role focuses on the operational management of database services, including backup and recovery, performance monitoring, incident resolution, patching, and routine maintenance. The Executive DBA plays a critical role in maintaining high availability and data integrity, supporting business continuity, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external audit requirements. The role also involves close collaboration with infrastructure, application, and security teams to proactively manage risks and support continuous service improvement. HOW CAN YOU EXPRESS YOUR TALENT
Database Operations & Maintenance: Provide 24×7 on-call support for the production database environment, including prompt response to off-hour emergencies to ensure uninterrupted service availability and rapid issue resolution. Manage routine operations including backups, user access, health checks, and space management to ensure database availability and performance. Performance Monitoring & Tuning Continuously monitor database performance and tune parameters, SQL queries, and storage usage to maintain optimal system responsiveness and stability. Incident Management & Troubleshooting Respond to and resolve database-related incidents, failures, and performance issues within defined SLAs to minimize service disruption. Security & Compliance Implement and enforce database security policies, auditing, and access controls; support internal and external audit requirements. Disaster Recovery & High Availability Support DR drills, manage Oracle Data Guard/GoldenGate, and maintain HA configurations to ensure business continuity. Collaboration & Stakeholder Support Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., development, infrastructure, security, compliance) to align database operations with business needs. Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology Relevant experience in database administration Should possess a
strong operational understanding of the business processes supported by database systems. Competencies:
Database High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR): Proficiency in configuring and managing Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) to ensure continuous data availability, replication, and failover readiness. Performance Tuning & Optimization: Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through SQL query optimization, index tuning, memory configuration, and database parameter adjustments to maintain optimal performance. Backup, Recovery: Deep understanding of Oracle RMAN, data backup strategies & recovery planning.
