One of our Clients is seeking an experienced
Structural Analysis Engineer
with a background in the
nuclear industry
to support advanced structural and seismic analysis activities on new nuclear plant projects. This is a
remote, 18-month contract
offering competitive hourly compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced
finite element modeling and analysis
of steel, concrete, and composite structures. - Execute
static and seismic analyses
using ANSYS APDL (power user level). - Support LS-Dyna modeling and simulations (preferred).
- Apply nuclear and structural codes:
ASCE 43, ASCE 4, ACI 349/318, ASCE 7, IBC, AISC N690
. - Develop technical reports, design documentation, and calculations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure technical excellence and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil/Structural Engineering (MS/PhD a plus).
- Nuclear experience is required.
- Expert proficiency in ANSYS APDL
(model building, seismic runs, post-processing). - LS-Dyna experience preferred.
- Strong background in seismic engineering and finite element methods.
- AISC N690 expertise is a major plus.
- PE (US) or P.Eng. (Canada)
preferred but not required. - Programming skills (Python, MATLAB) a plus.
