About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant with in-depth knowledge of Australian taxation laws, compliance, and accounting practices. This role is tailored for professionals who have worked extensively with Australian clients and can manage complex tax matters independently.
As a key member of our international tax team, you will prepare and review tax returns, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide advisory support to clients across Australia, while working from our Lahore office.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Lodgements
- Prepare, review, and lodge Australian tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts.
- Ensure timely completion of BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG, and Superannuation compliance.
- Handle FBT (Fringe Benefits Tax) calculations and lodgements.
Advisory & Client Management
- Provide tax planning, advisory, and compliance guidance in line with ATO regulations.
- Communicate directly with Australian clients to clarify data, resolve queries, and advise on tax implications.
- Stay updated on changes in Australian tax laws and interpret their impact for clients.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Australian accounting standards.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
Team Leadership & Quality Control
- Mentor junior accountants in Australian tax compliance.
- Conduct Quality Control Reviews (QCR) to ensure accuracy and compliance in tax work.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
Professional Certification (Preferred):
- CPA Australia or CA ANZ qualified (or finalist).
- ACCA members with strong Australian tax experience will also be considered.
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Australian taxation & accounting.
- Proven track record of handling end-to-end tax compliance for multiple Australian client portfolios.
Technical Skills:
- Strong command of Australian taxation regulations and ATO procedures.
- Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or other Australian accounting software.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
