ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:
- Verify each patient’s identification and check lab tests requisition slips and patient’s status through verbal questioning to ensure that the test requirements for collection of correct samples are fulfilled.
- Perform accurate and gentle vein puncture procedures to collect blood and inject the same into the specific containers according to the test requirements to provide quality services.
- Label each patient’s sample container before collection of specimen according to the laboratory protocols to avoid mix-up of specimens.
- Follow safety precautions at all times, including disposing of sharp objects in a sharp container and maintaining a clean work area.
- Explain phlebotomy procedures to patients for special and routine lab tests according to the lab testing requirements and protocols to ensure collection of correct sample using the right method.
You should have:
- Matriculation, preferably Intermediate.
- At least one year of relevant experience, particularly in venipuncture on adult and paediatric patients.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally as well as in writing.
- Good command of phlebotomy procedures and adequate knowledge of various collection containers.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in shift duties.

- assist in teaching / training of junior staff, student and trainees according to guidelines provided as and when required
- follow and assist supervisor in the implementation of safety standards according to Laboratory Safety Manual on daily basis
- ensure through visual inspection that the junior staff carry out their activities as per the laboratory quality manual on a daily basis
- process and co-sign reports, including negative reports, of lab tests
- follow safety standards in accordance to the safety manual on a daily basis to provide a safe working environment.
You should have:
- a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Masters’ degree will be preferred
- three to four years of experience as Technologist at AKU or six to seven years of relevant experience at a hospital or laboratory inclusive of two to three years of administrative experience
- thorough knowledge of laboratory testing procedures
- knowledge of latest developments in medical technology field
- good written and verbal communication skills
- willingness to work in shifts.

You should have:
- a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Adminstration

- sound knowledge of computer software, particularly MS Office and proficiency in data maintenance and data analysis

- a BS degree in Medical Lab Technology, Microbiology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Clinical diagnostics, or any other relevant discipline, while having a Master’s degree in the same disciplines will be preferred
- minimum First Division or a CGPA of 3.0 & above (or equivalent); additionally, the relevant degree should have been awarded during the year 2022, 2023 & 2024
- willingness to work in shift duties (morning, evening, and night)
- good interpersonal skills
- ability to effectively work independently as well as in teams
This is a one-year traineeship programme. On successful completion of the training program, permanent employment opportunity is offered subject to availability of the position and agreement to serve the Foundation for atleast two years.
