This position is responsible for implementing factory Environment, Occupational Health and Safety (HSE) policy by assessing HSE risks and providing technical solutions. Along with the effective implementation of the HSE policy, this position requires nurturing a culture where everyone identifies HSE as their direct responsibility; thereby complying with all CCI and TCC HSE standards, obligations, rules, and regulations.

We are looking for an HSE Engineer for our manufacturing industry client based in Karachi.
Job Summary:
Assist in the development and implementation of the Company HSE Management System and HSE Control Procedures. The HSE Engineer will be responsible for keeping a liaison between the top management and the departmental heads for the continual improvement of HSEMS. Shall have good knowledge of technical process safety, fire protection systems, hazardous area classifications, and safety studies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- To provide professional suggestions on the management of health, safety, and fire hazards in factory Plant operations, project activities, and head office activities to ensure that risks to staff, contractor personnel, visitors, and the plant are minimized.
- To carry out risk assessments of all relevant workplace activities, including HAZOP studies for the most critical unit operations or processes.
- To identify and stay up-to-date with the knowledge of legal and regulatory HSE requirements applicable to the plant site and ensure evaluation of compliance.
- To develop safe systems of work and permit-to-work systems to control hazards.
- To identify HSE training needs and develop HSE training programs.
- To carry out inspections, audits, incident investigations, and reporting as required by the HSE Management Representative.
- To prepare emergency procedures and train staff for emergency situations (i.e., evacuation drills and fire fighting drills) to help mitigate accidents/incidents.
- To communicate and consult with workers and staff on health and safety matters throughout the factory Plant for effective implementation of the HSE management system at their workplace.
- To ensure that management is fully aware of the HSE performance of the company by monitoring HSE performance by staff and contractors at operating sites.
- To review HSE performance data and prepare quarterly and annual HSE performance reports and presentations for management information.
- To maintain all HSE documents and records.
Job Requirement:
- BE Mechanical / Environment
- Certified courses of lead auditor i.e., OHSAS 18001:2007 or ISO 14001:2004, NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safety, or OSHA shall be given high preference.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in a reputable organization.
