The Department of Oncology offers comprehensive cancer care services to all patients. The services are provided through multidisciplinary teams. Infrastructure facilities include a daycare setting dedicated to oncology patients. Outpatient facilities include clinics of Medical, Hematology, Pediatric, Radiation, and Palliative Care. The Department has a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education and research. Residency programs are offered in Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, and Clinical Hematology Oncology, and a fellowship program in Pediatric Oncology.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Instructor (Medical Oncology), Department of Oncology.
Responsibilities:
As a member of the Oncology team, you will work under the supervision of the team's attending physician and will contribute to the overall care and coordination of patients.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
- issuing and supervising discharge orders for all patients meeting the discharge criteria
- conducting an exit/evening round on patients to evaluate the patient’s condition and the outcome/follow-up of morning orders
- conducting morning rounds on all patients with the inpatient team and coordination of patients identified as “possible” and definite “discharges” one day prior
- evaluation and coordination of oncology patients in the outpatient clinics
- ensuring the chemotherapy orders are entered and administered in a timely manner
- being on-call (via phone) for any situation requiring an urgent physician decision regarding management, discharges transfers and for any out-patient queries
- ensuring completion of discharge summaries by team residents as early as possible after discharge round and before the time allotted
- participating in education activities within the department and facilitating academic sessions in coordination with Chief Residents/Programme Director.
Requirements:
You should have:
- MBBS
- FCPS – I
- Completed residency training in medical oncology with one year house job
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent clinical skills
- Ability to provide patient care in a diverse setting
- Ability to satisfy and retain patients in clinical practice
- Ability to deliver CME lectures.
