Responsibilities

Major Job Activities:

  • Perform engineering, installation, operations, and maintenance of different types of IP-based routers and switches, as directed in individual Task Orders (TOs).
  • Use USAFCENT-provided standard network devices for routing and switching. The contractor shall maintain standard USAFCENT-approved operating systems on these devices.
  • Configure Tier 2 routing and switching devices for optimal operations in accordance with (IAW) NOSC standards.
  • Engineer, install, and maintain network equipment to support new and emerging requirements.
  • Provide responsive services to include real-time network-level configuration control, network restoration, quality control and performance standards, status reporting, MSL, and other actions required by policies, responsibilities, and operational procedures IAW the SPIN-C, and support all NOSC-deployed projects.
  • Require network rights and privileges commensurate with roles and responsibilities as indicated in the TO.
  • Network Management, monitoring, and sustainment;
  • Maintain compliance with all associated guidance and directives in the SPIN-C;
  • Maintain compliance with guidance and directives issued in CTOs and NOTAMs;
  • Maintain compliance with all associated DoD, AF, USCENTCOM, USAFCENT, and local Instructions;
  • Report and track, utilizing Remedy, all local and enterprise issues associated with network and systems operations.
  • Use only standard USAFCENT-provided network management tools to monitor and sustain network operations.
  • Assist the Government in maintaining positive control over all hardware and software. Hardware accountability shall be maintained using the Standard Base Supply Systems (SBSS) and Asset Inventory Management (AIM) system. All equipment transferred between organizations shall be done IAW SBSS and Information Technology Asset Management policies and directives. When directed, assist Government personnel by packing and shipping equipment transferred between organizations.
  • Be responsible for encryption equipment used on the network. This includes control and safeguarding, configuration, and “user-level” maintenance of Ethernet and serial encryption devices.
  • Coordinate with the COMSEC manager to ensure approved encryption keys are available for encryption equipment used on the network.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled NOSC-directed meetings and conferences.

Network Operations Manager
Nextbridge (Pvt) Ltd., Pakistan

1. Manages team of Network Engineers to ensure voice and data networks meet functional objectives of the business.
2. Manages, plans and implements verifies and troubleshoots local and wide-area enterprise networks and works collaboratively with specialists on advanced security, voice, wireless and video solutions.
3. Identifies opportunities for improving the network infrastructure.
4. Reviews, coordinates and approves network changes to ensure flawless implementation across the enterprise.
5. Accountable for network infrastructure and provides coordination with International teams to maintain labs and network infrastructure in production and non-production environments.
6. Manages network infrastructure to ensure disaster recovery systems are accessible.
7. Demonstrates advanced understanding of business processes and underlying critical systems and networks.
8. Enforces strategic network standards to meet application and data security. Works with Network team to implement and adopt all network requirements.
9. Guides and provides ultimate direction for ongoing maintenance, project implementation and network operations.
10. Is a key resource for identifying and resolving all network-related issues.

Job Specification

- Minimum 5 years working experience in network or infrastructure support environment
- Minimum 2 years in team lead/supervisory role
- Experience in developing process and procedural documentation
- Customer-focused, passionate about delivering exceptional Customer Technical Support
- Ability to be proactive and work professionally in a pressured, diverse and growing environment
- Management of web operations in a Linux/LAMP Architecture with network and server infrastructure
- Management of Linux-based email servers, firewalls, proxy, IPSec, etc.
- Experience with DNS, Load Balancing technology, networking monitoring and business continuity

**Overview**
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Netwrok Operations Manager. This position will be located in Islamabad, Pakistan and will be an onsite position.
**Responsibilities**
Provide network operations. The contractor shall:
1. Use AFCENT provided standard network devices for routing and switching;
2. Operate, maintain and sustain IP based routers, switches and standard AFCENT approved operating systems on AFCENT network devices;
3. Configure Tier 2 routing and switching devices IAW SPIN-C.;
4. Design and implement solutions, and install and maintain network equipment to support new and emerging requirements;
5. Provide responsive services, real-time network level configuration control, network restoration, quality control and performance standards, status reporting, MSL, and other actions IAW SPIN-C;
6. Support projects deployed by the NOSC;
7. Ensure network rights and privileges are commensurate with roles and responsibilities; do not delegate network rights and privileges without the approval of the NOSC or local communications squadron commander;
8. Maintain compliance with: SPIN-C, CTOs and NOTAMs, DOD, USAF, CENTCOM, AFCENT, and local instructions;
9. Use Remedy to report and track local and enterprise issues associated with network and systems operations;
10. Monitor and sustain network operations;
11. Assist the government in maintaining positive control over hardware and software;
12. Maintain hardware accountability using the Standard Base Supply System (SBSS) and Asset Inventory Management System (AIMS);
