The Research Society of International Law (RSIL) is seeking a Research Associate to join its team in Islamabad. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-level research and policy work on issues at the intersection of international law, domestic law, and public policy in Pakistan.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct legal and policy research across RSIL’s thematic areas, including international law, human rights, security, governance, and regulatory frameworks.
• Draft, edit, and contribute to research reports, policy briefs, and analytical papers.
• Support stakeholder engagement, including government representatives, civil society, and international partners.
• Assist in organizing consultations, workshops, and training sessions.
• Contribute to project implementation, monitoring, and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills

• 2–5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with Pakistan’s legal system and international legal frameworks.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Fluency in English and Urdu (regional languages an asset).

1. Responsible for coordinating the research and evaluation program for 2007-08.
2. Liaison with the in-country institutional partners and alumni of Plymouth State University (PSU) Summer Institute for Pakistan.
