The developer will monitor BI loads, communicate, and troubleshoot issues related to data integrity, data design, and functional and technical software problems. Additionally, the Application Developer will maintain BW structures and support ETL processes for data feeding in and out of BW. This role also includes developing, coordinating, and participating in unit, integration, and user acceptance testing. The developer will collaborate with business and functional teams to transform business requirements, processes, and designs into a comprehensive, efficient, scalable, and stable BI solution.Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide SAP BW application development and support within assigned areas
- Collaborate closely with the team to execute all required process steps throughout the SDLC
- Analyze, design, code, and test break/fix requests and enhancements to SAP BW
- Design and code following the company's best practices
- Support the installation of application releases into production as directed
- Define standards and reusable approaches within your area of responsibility
- Maintain effective relationships with internal/external clients and users within your area of responsibility
- Encourage and implement continuous improvement measures on a day-to-day basis
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks appropriately
- Conduct OSS notes research, message posting, applying notes, and forwarding SAP OSS.
- Design, build, develop, and test SAP Business Warehouse (BW) components such as infocubes, virtual infocubes, infoobjects, BW extractors, ODS objects, etc.
- Have a strong understanding of ABAP code, be proficient in coding in ABAP, and possess debugging skills
- Develop and extend the logical and physical data model for BW
- Design transfer structures and communication structures for BW
- Develop documentation and procedures for SAP BW
- Develop and design extract structures and associated conversion requirements
- Work on SAP HANA calculation views and SAP HANA modeling
- Troubleshoot issues and provide technical support
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
- 8-12 years of experience as a business warehouse developer
- Experience with six or more full lifecycle implementations
- Proficiency with SAP ECC/S4 HANA and BW on HANA or higher
- Familiarity with SAP’s ASAP methodology
- Experience in ABAP development and BW reporting for FI, SD, and MM module
Skills and Behaviors:
- Strong functional knowledge in SCM and MM SAP Modules
- Strong ABAP skills in order to understand, create, and modify ABAP code in start routines, extractors, and custom programs
- Strong knowledge of data modeling and business intelligence concepts
- Strong knowledge of and ability to adhere to architecture standards
