• Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional) is highly desirable.
• 2+ years of proven experience in implementing and managing health and safety management systems, preferably within an ISO 45001 framework.
• Thorough knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data and drive continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with workplace ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and safety training.

Introduction:

Penny Appeal Pakistan is a humanitarian and development organization focused on building resilient communities through climate-smart, inclusive, and sustainable programming. Under its WASH and climate change portfolio, Penny Appeal is implementing an initiative to strengthen local disaster preparedness and resilience in District Sujawal, a coastal region increasingly exposed to cyclones, flooding, and sea intrusion. The project aims to enhance local capacities in disaster preparedness, early warning, and community resilience through participatory risk mapping, capacity-building, and real-time simulation exercises. The project seeks to address capacity gaps at institutional and community levels by facilitating hazard mapping, risk assessment, DRR action planning, training for local officials, and conducting simulation exercises in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and Pakistan Meteorological Department (PAKMET). To carry out these interventions, Penny Appeal is seeking a qualified consulting firm with expertise in disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, and capacity building.

Objective of the Consultancy:

To strengthen local disaster preparedness and anticipatory action mechanisms through hazard mapping, risk assessment, and capacity building of local governance institutions and communities.
