We are looking for a 2 – 4 years experienced Database Administrator to join our team! As a Database Administrator at our company, you will be responsible for designing, testing, planning, implementing, protecting, operating, managing and maintaining our company's databases and troubleshooting of databases.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level Support and maintain Postgres. MySQL database environment
• Create shell scripts and SQL scripts for database administration
• Provide appropriate resources and skill sets to support the DBA functions for the Applications as required
• Setup, maintain and test backup and recovery processes of databases
• Propose database changes to ease monitoring and administrative effort
• Document and implement changes to databases via proper Change Management methodology
• Monitor and analyze database activity to proactively identify and prevent potential Incidents and also recommend performance improvements

• Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses

• Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related information technology field
• 2 - 4 years of experience with programming languages such as PL/SQL coding
• Easily design and implement a business process into functional and efficient code
• Implement and manage company data management practices and policies
• 2 - 4 years of experience with Postgres & MySQL
• Good understanding of joins and indexes
• Good understanding of database design, schema standards, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance
• AWS EC2 & RDS experience is desirablebut not mandatory.
• Working knowledge of WAL management, Auto and manual vacuuming, Server configuration parameters, transactions and locks management.

The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for managing and maintaining our AWS Aurora RDS (MySQL) database infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security of our data systems. You will support day-to-day database operations, perform database tuning, handle backup/recovery, and work closely with the engineering teams to implement best practices in database design and optimization.

Responsibilities:
• Administer, monitor, and support production and non-production databases on cloud (eg. AWS RDS for MySql, ElasticCache for Redis)
• Ensure database security, integrity, and availability
• Perform backup and recovery procedures
• Implement and manage database maintenance plans, including patching and upgrades
• Optimize and tune database performance, including query optimization and index management
• Set up and monitor replication, partitioning, and other high-availability features based on usage
• Collaborate with development teams to design and review data models and queries
• Provide guidance and best practices to developers on database structure and data modelling during feature development
• Maintain and document standard operating procedures
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner
• Participate in on-call rotation for database support

Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience:
• 3+ years of experience as a MySQL Database Administrator, preferably on AWS Aurora
• Hands-on experience managing relational databases in AWS
• Familiarity with database automation, monitoring, and alerting tools
• Solid understanding of database security and optimization best practices

• Provide support for all Database Hosting SDAs
• Design, install, configure and support database infrastructure
• Administer and support database systems including storage provisioning, VM provisioning, patching and upgrading
• Implement backups, standby databases and monitoring
• Assist in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of database automation tasks using Ansible or other automation tools
• Perform database clones using backups/snapshot/clone/replication technology
• Provide support for setup/architecture including setup of monitoring, alerting and scripts/interfaces to Help Desk systems
• Manage NAS/LUNs for use with relational databases and related systems
• Coordinate with Vendor Database Support for resolution of problems and incidents related to databases

• Perform capacity management and reporting as required

• Extensive Database administration experience, including upgrades and patching
• Good understanding of cloud services such as Oracle (OCI), AWS, Azure, GCP
• Familiar with cloud products like Oracle Database Cloud, Oracle Exadata Cloud, Oracle Integration Cloud, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, AWS RDS
• Extensive knowledge and support experience in at least three of the following products:
• Oracle Exadata
• Oracle RAC
• Oracle DataGuard
• Oracle RMAN
• High availability solutions including SQL Server Always On
• Failover Clustering (FCI), and Availability Groups (AG)
• Disaster recovery technologies including database mirroring and transaction log shipping

Position Summary

The Oracle Database Administrator for Infrastructure team will perform Oracle database Administration for the Customer facing and corporate applications. He/she will provide strong operational support to the internal applications as well as Infrastructure teams. The candidate will participate in the On-Call rotation, troubleshoot problems and take appropriate corrective actions. He/she will keep the managers/team leaders informed of the progress and issues and collaborate with team members and application partners. • Initiate, plans, coordinates Oracle Database system upgrades on Linux, Unix and Windows environments
