Job Overview

We are looking for a passionate Data Analyst. The successful candidate will be adept at understanding and transforming data into information from a variety of sources. Data analyst responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis from understanding requirements to designing solutions and implementing data workflows.

The data analyst will work to understand data processing processes, leveraging modern technologies (such as Apache Nifi, SQL and APIs) to deliver efficient data workflows.

The data analyst will be creating, maintaining and improving reporting systems (such as Power BI and Bold BI) for a wide audience base of varying technical abilities, understanding the end user requirements and ensuring reports meet expected standards.

The data analyst will work with manufacturers, suppliers, and customers to convert pricing data information using the most effective method. A key part of the role is to build relationships to gather information and develop and maintain a process to ensure the pricing data is current, relevant, and can eventually be automated in its delivery to our customers.

The data analyst will collate data and complete the analysis for key meetings as required by the Data Analyst Team lead, Development Manager and the Product Manager.

The data analyst will work with customers on data mergers, ensuring data is correctly merged between systems, and that the systems are running smoothly, meeting business/customer requirements.

The successful hire will be located and work out of the Contour Software Islamabad office, working as part of the resource-centre team, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data from customer system data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets using modern analytics tools e.g. Power Bi, Bold BI.
  • Work with internal resources, (Ibcos Account Managers and the Professional Services team), and customers on data mergers, ensuring that the tools are in place to merge the data from one system or externally produced CSV files into another system.
  • Support any test execution associated with data mergers to validate the data.
  • Process price lists from manufacturers ensuring that imported data is correct thereby enabling an update on to customers systems.
  • Define which price updates may be automated due to simplicity and repetition and progress the automation.
  • Become involved in ad-hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications And Skills Required

Essential – BSc or above in either Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics, or a related discipline.

Essential – Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.

Essential – Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.

Essential – Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Essential - Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, Power BI, Bold BI etc.).

Essential – Knowledge of Apache Nifi workflows and maintaining them.

Essential – Knowledge of databases including the use of SQL to query and manage data
