Responsibilities:

1. Periodically assess the insurance needs of the company in terms of exposure to loss from various causes and probable amount of loss.
2. Support management in inviting proposals from insurance companies for covering the company against losses. Evaluate the terms of various proposals received from insurance companies, identify aspects to be deleted or riders to be attached and obtain revised proposals allowing for useful comparisons with different insurance proposals.
3. Support management in developing recommendations for insurance cover to be obtained for various assets and employees of the company and secure approval from respective authority.
4. Periodically coordinate with the custodians of the company’s assets to obtain up-to-date information about the physical condition of the assets and any additions or deletions and promptly inform the insurance company of any material change in value or location of insured assets.
5. Obtain information on various types of goods imported by the company, suggest the type of insurance cover to be obtained and recommend the strategy to apply for insurance cover of imported cargo.
6. Coordinate with imports (Procurement Department) to obtain details of imports and assist in securing insurance cover for various consignments. Review tender evaluation reports prepared by Procurement and recommend award after ensuring all rules and guidelines have been met as per Public Procurement Rules (PPR) and as per prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of SSGC.
7. Supervise the processing of bills against Service Contracts of Ditching & Backfilling and telecom services accurately and as per schedule.
8. Oversee cash payments being processed are validated and are not in violation of guidelines provided in Schedule of Financial Authority.
9. Participate in the pre-qualification process of vendors/service providers.
10. Liaise with excise and shipping for filing of claims relating to loss on imported consignments.
11. Coordinate with the respective user department for obtaining details of vehicles owned or leased by the company and any changes in additions or deletions thereto and inform the concerned insurance companies.
12. Obtain employee details from the user department (Human Resources) and advise the changes to the insurance companies providing life, health, accident or other types of cover to employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify company-wide insurance requirements and ensure exposure is mitigated through adequate insurance cover.
• Ensure risk financing costs are in line with the company-wide risk profile.
• Authenticate and inform GRS-Vevey of any major changes in Risk Profile, e.g., acquisitions, divestments, capital investments, new construction projects, and major claims, for prompt decision-making.
• Support the Global Property Loss Prevention Programme and follow up on the implementation of recommendations.
• Conduct annual renewal of policies and ensure timely payment for all insurance categories in the market (e.g., Fire, Marine, Life, and Motor).
• Negotiate policy premium rates with local insurance companies.
• Select insurers or service providers for insurance/services outside the scope of global arrangements.
• Review contractual arrangements with third parties to ensure alignment with group programs and practices.
• Ensure robust claims handling procedures are in place and properly communicated across the value chain to ensure timely settlement.
• Implement policies to reduce non-recoverable losses to the business.
• Ensure compliance and implementation of local laws and global standards (Global Risk Services-Vevey) on insurance and risk financing.
• Integrate group risk financing programs and methods into the local insurance program.
• Ensure compliance with recommendations of ZRE (Zurich Risk Engineering-Vevey) at all sites (4 factories) and the implementation of the Global Property Loss Prevention Program.

Master’s degree in Finance, Insurance, or Risk Management (18 years of education) from an HEC-recognized university with at least 4 years of experience.

Insurance-related professional qualifications such as Dip CII, ARM, or CPCU are preferred.

The main purpose of this position is to support the section head in arranging adequate insurance coverage for the company’s assets and employees at minimal cost. The incumbent is also responsible for policy administration, underwriting, claims management, and recoveries in cases of damages.

• Communicate with departments to obtain loss details and ensure prompt claims processing.
• Follow up on insurance claims until settlement and ensure collections are banked promptly.
• Coordinate with auditors and provide required documentation for insurance-related accounts and transactions.
• Ensure compliance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and the company's Business Principles and Ethics Policy.
• Undertake any other tasks assigned by management.
