Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer with a background in Mechanical Engineering and at least six years of experience in turnarounds/shutdowns in the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in project execution, team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and business development.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the site manager to achieve project & turnaround objectives.
- Ensure all necessary inputs (resources) are available to implement the company's systems for effective planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling.
- Update turnaround activities in Level IV plan in close coordination with Discipline In-charge and Site Manager.
- Prepare achievable targets from execution staff for Level IV plan.
- Guide pre-mobilization activities for smooth project commencement.
- Manage project cost & financial aspects, ensuring budget adherence and cost control.
- Monitor project scheduling, monitoring, reporting & execution for timely completion and corrective actions.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders for smooth communication and project progress.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
- Experience: Minimum 6-8 years of extensive experience in Turnarounds of Oil & Gas Sector, serving a key role in the planning domain.
- Required Skills:
- Proven expertise in managing/executing shutdowns, turnarounds, and retrofit projects.
- Strong project planning acumen with a track record of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in developing execution strategies, determining labor and material costs, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project;
2. Track project execution to help ensure it stays on time, on budget, and according to design by overseeing the project planning, inventory services, cost control, and project management;
3. Monitor day-to-day work progress and provide accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports by swiftly communicating potential progress delays or project slippages;
4. Collaborate with other departments (engineering, procurement, QA/QC, HSE) to ensure integrated planning;
5. Consult with stakeholders on the most appropriate engineering techniques and sequences of activities for each project stage;
6. Conduct critical path analysis (CPM) and identify schedule risks and mitigation plans;
7. Attend coordination and progress meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors
Job Specification :Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a related capacity.
Skills: Strong planning and project management skills, excellent interpersonal communication, technical expertise, and the ability to multitask effectively.
