As a Fence Estimator , you will be responsible for preparing cost estimates and pricing details for clients with and commercial projects. Your duties will include placing bids for fence building jobs, submitting detailed labor and materials cost plans, estimating multiple projects simultaneously, and using computer programs to provide accurate project estimates and outlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate project plans and specifications to determine material and labor requirements for custom fencing projects.
- Adhere to the company’s pre-existing procedures for accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with the owner, crew leads, and other team members to develop bids and proposals.
- Communicate with clients/team members to gather information and answer questions about the estimate.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of estimates and bid proposals.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in building codes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil or structural engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a construction estimator, preferably with direct experience in the fencing industry.
- Strong understanding of construction materials and methods, preferably related to fencing projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Workspace.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
Preferred Skills:
