The Commercial Manager - Business Development is responsible for all prospecting, business development and leasing of equipment and ground space on Tower infrastructure to named wireless carrier accounts in an assigned geographic area. The incumbent is also responsible for developing and driving new business initiatives.
The CMBD is responsible for business relationship development and management, researching potential sales opportunities for all offered products and services, identifying new customers through research, networking and cold calling. The incumbent will need to develop an extensive network of contacts and/or relationships to generate new leads and manage pipelines.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all product and service offerings.
- Effectively market and lease communications infrastructure, Build-to-Suit capabilities and services to customers within an established geographic area.
- Identify new business opportunities with named wireless carriers, tower owners, consultants and other new prospects through research, calls, meetings and presentations.
- Achieve new business leasing budgets for all products quarterly and annually.
- Present creative solutions that capture greater market share while solving customer challenges.
- Broaden established customer relationships and develop new relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers to increase account knowledge and influence.
- Establish and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified new business opportunities.
- Leverage effective closing skills to drive new business, i.e., overcome customer objections and/or obstacles throughout the sales process.
- Initiate, organize, prepare and lead customer sales calls with consistent follow-through.
- Maintain a clear understanding of customers' business, decision-makers and influencers, as well as the budget and approval processes.
- Champion customer issues, challenges and opportunities internally while providing excellent customer service.
- Provide accurate and timely pipeline and lease-up forecasting in Salesforce.com.
- Provide information to management on a weekly basis.
- Attend zoning hearings and site visits.
- Proven successful sales track record with a growth mindset.
- Excellent ability to create new, and maintain existing, account relationships.
