Description

Are you ready to level up your legal career?

Do you dream of standing in court, confidently arguing a case like a boss, not just pushing paper from the sidelines? If you’re a self-starter, a go-getter, and hungry to grow into a powerhouse trial attorney in the high-stakes world of family law, property disputes, and business litigation , then let’s talk. North Georgia Family Lawyers and Legal Defense, LLC is the firm for you.

We’re a litigation-driven, client-centered law firm committed to delivering exceptional results. Our cases are real, clients are passionate, and our courtrooms are active. We fight smart and win with strategy. We are an entrepreneurial family law and property litigation firm that is on track for aggressive growth.

We're looking for experienced trial attorneys to join our team and collaborate closely with the owner, fellow attorneys, and support staff to drive impactful results, helping both clients and team members build stronger, brighter futures.

If you’re looking for a place to grow your skills, get mentored by seasoned litigators, and have your voice heard , this is it.

Our mission is to be known for guiding clients through one of the most emotional chapters of their lives—and helping them emerge stronger, more empowered, and confident that they had a team who truly cared and fiercely advocated for them. We're growing quickly and looking for an attorney who’s ready to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.

This position will be responsible for important work, including:

This role is all about doing meaningful, hands-on legal work from day one. You’ll be expected to:

  • Take full ownership of cases from intake through resolution, with guidance and support when needed
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, and discovery documents with precision and purpose
  • Advocate for clients in hearings, mediations, and eventually in full trials
  • Tackle complex legal issues and collaboratively craft strategies that get results
  • Communicate with empathy and clarity, especially with clients navigating emotionally charged situations
  • Work alongside a collaborative, down-to-earth team that actually enjoys the practice of law
  • Keep growing, learning, and building the skills that will make you a confident, powerhouse litigator

We’re passionate about mentoring and supporting professional growth, but at this stage of our growth, we’re not in a position to train someone straight out of law school. We’re looking for an attorney with some courtroom advocacy experience and a solid working knowledge of civil practice and courtroom procedure. Experience in civil or criminal litigation is a definite plus.

The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and able to take ownership of their work with minimal oversight. If you’re someone who can spot what needs to be done and dive in with confidence, you’ll thrive here. Additionally, we are looking for:

  • Georgia-licensed attorney
  • 1–3 years of litigation experience preferred, but not required
  • You love learning and want to grow into a courtroom warrior
  • Comfortable with trial practice and litigation, or willing to dive in headfirst
  • Obsessively organized and deadline-driven
  • Proactive problem solver, you don’t wait to be told what to do
  • Strong legal writing skills (we write to win, not to impress)
  • Bonus points if you’ve handled hearings or depositions

North Georgia Family Lawyers and Legal Defense is an excellent place to build your career because:

  • Real mentorship from experienced trial attorneys
  • Opportunities to get in court, not just sit behind a desk
  • Friendly, supportive work culture with no ego trips
  • Competitive salary + performance-based bonuses
  • CLEs, tools, and training to help you shine
  • We celebrate wins, yours, the firm’s, and the client’s

This is a contract-to-hire position with a full-time caseload, so the ability to commit to 40 hours per week is essential. Remote work flexibility is available. During the initial 90-day period, compensation will range from $110,000 to $115,000 annually, with potential for increases based on performance. Attorneys who demonstrate strong results and profitability may also be eligible for bonus compensation.

Please prepare a cover letter with no more than TWO paragraphs and a closing sentence. In the first paragraph, explain what you believe are the 3 most important qualities needed in someone who works with family law clients and why you believe they are the most important qualities. In the second paragraph, explain why you applied to this particular ad. As a closing sentence, please write, “I have read the instructions contained in the job posting and have followed the instructions.” Also, please share a writing sample that showcases your skills and represents work you're proud of.

We look forward to hearing from you!

  • Negotiate client-focused resolutions and settlements
  • Perform legal research
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, witnesses, the court, and third parties regarding pending matters
  • Conduct strategy sessions with clients
  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation
