What is MBU Technician?
The MBU Technician will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of cell site infrastructure. The role involves power equipment inspection, calibrating power equipment to adapt to specific needs, ensuring that cell site operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
What does MBU Technician do?
- Troubleshoots electrical issues
- Maintains KPIs of MBU (NAR, TCH, PM success rate)
- Inspects and maintains power equipment to ensure they are in working condition
- Installs, maintains, and repairs Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
- Performs installation, troubleshooting, and diagnostic testing of Rectifiers (Emerson, Huawei) and Rectifier batteries (Li-ion cells)
- Identifies and troubleshoots Diesel Generator problems and failures
- Performs ATP of Diesel Generator after overhauling
- Identifies and rectifies DCACs
- Identifies and resolves Commercial supply faults
- Ensures safe and efficient tower operations
- Reports safety hazards or concerns to supervisor
- Maintains accurate records of tower operations
- Manages telco spares and inventory of cell sites
- Ensures PMs are performed by vendors with good quality, within the given cycle, and sites are audited regularly
- Resolves sales & corporate complaints of assigned MBU within 24 hours
- Interprets technical drawings and specifications for tower component installation
- Follows all safety regulations and HSE protocols

Requirements
- High school diploma or Associate Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunication installation and maintenance of power infrastructure
- Knowledge of tower components and tools
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Hands-on experience with Power infrastructure on BTS Cell Sites, both AC & DC, Rectifiers, and RMS troubleshooting
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of telco and non-telco equipment
- Flexible working hours for operational emergencies
