- participate in the care of a wide variety of essential and emergency surgical problems, in the disciplines of general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, plastic surgery, pediatric surgery, anesthesia, and radiology, and to follow these patients appropriately during the inpatient care under the concerned admitting/attending consultant
- be on call with a full-time faculty and would report to his/her faculty in matters arising on the call days
- provide assistance in OR/SDC session with supervising faculty
- engage in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as assigned
- develop leadership skills pertaining to healthcare systems, delivery, financing, and community engagement through specific didactic modules conducted throughout the year
- engage in experiential learning by providing surgical care in lower-middle-income countries (LMICs).
