Dawn Precision Engineering, established in 1992, is a leading company in the automotive industry specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced dies, molds, and high-tensile stamping parts. We seek a motivated Design Engineer with 1 year of relevant experience to join our innovative team in Karachi.

Responsibilities :
- Create and modify design layouts using CAD software.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and improve product designs.
- Conduct analysis and simulations to validate design solutions.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation and product specifications.
- Support the prototyping and testing phases of new designs.

- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

The key goal for design engineers is to develop, maintain, implement, and improve electrical systems and their components, all of which require them to have strong technical and manual abilities.

Duties include:

1. Working with clients and colleagues to develop a design brief using mathematical knowledge and skills to design solutions.
2. Researching whether the design will work and be cost-effective.
3. Assessing and testing the usability, environmental impact, and safety of a design using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) software to create prototypes.
4. Collecting and analyzing data from tests on prototypes.
5. Modifying designs and retesting them.
6. Managing the development process, including tracking progress and costs, and keeping clients informed.

Location: Renewables & Environment - Lahore, Pakistan

Spend over 2 years working on diverse range of HVAC projects including BSL3 Labs, Offices, Hotels, Hospitals, Pharmaceutical Companies. Employing BIM (Building Information Modelling) and MEP Systems for different projects.

Manage HVAC load calculations, equipment selection and ducting design for different systems. Performing HVAC Design and modelling through Carrier’s HAP & Autodesk Revit software. Designing duct layout, hydronic piping, pump calculations. Mechanical Design, analysis, and configuration of failure cases and report generation. Working with coworkers to evaluate design drawings and calculations for HVAC, plumbing components, piping, and mechanical systems to satisfy target requirements throughout the design process and contribute to content and direction.

1. Plan, design, and manage construction of high voltage power distribution systems and electrical building services for airport projects.

Education: BSc./MSc. in Electrical Engineering

1. Design Electrical power generation and distribution system including of utility/grid (33/132/220kV) system, HV/ MV/LV Switchgear/MCC, along with all applicable protections.
2. Developing various detail-engineering documents/drawings, system studies on ETAP such as load flow, short circuit, motor starting, transient studies & relay coordination studies.
3. Develop Load List, single line diagrams (SLDs), control schematics, electrical equipment detail specifications, data sheets, tender requisitions, power, lighting & earthing, hazardous area classification layouts, datasheets, cable schedules & typical details etc.
4. Design of uninterrupted power supply (UPS) as per electrical & instrument requirement to cater the plant essential loads.
5. Perform lighting calculations/illumination study for indoor and outdoor lighting system and determine illumination level on DIALux and Calculux software.
6. Preparation of Specifications & data sheets of engine/turbine driven generators, transformer, substation equipment, Switchgear/MCC, UPS, cables, grounding & lightning system etc.
7. Assist in preparation of estimates for bid proposals, including technical query reviews, execution statements and man-hour estimates.
8. Deliver electrical power engineering services that meet client requirement. All the works performed on applicable standards and company statutory rules & regulations i.e. IEC, API, NFPA, IEEE.
9. Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures.
10. Fully familiar with the project scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline requirements; including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address the issues.
11. Identify changes to scope and promptly raise change notifications, including providing any necessary supporting documentation and estimates. Provide similar support for Variation Orders.
12. Raise technical queries to obtain missing information, clarify work scope, and to maintain preferred procedures, specifications, standards, practices and operational requirements.
13. Participate in finalizing deliverables lists and deliverables, ensuring compliance with specifications and functional integrity.
14. Attend project review meetings, vendor meetings, engineering meetings and site surveys, as required.
15. Assist procurement personnel in procuring Discipline equipment, materials and services; ensuring that work produced complies with Customer/Client objectives and procedures. Procurement assistance includes preparing requisitions, evaluate technical quotations & preparing queries, compiling bid tabulations and recommendations, preparing purchase requisitions, and coordinating with Procurement to expedite vendor documents.
16. Development of Inspection Plan, Management Strategy, Task list & recommendations.
17. Participate in FAT & inspection and preparation & resolution of punch lists on arrival of skid / material.
18. Review Pre-commissioning and commissioning index and provide technical assistance on site during pre-commissioning and start-up as required.
19. Preparation and submission of reports containing results of site verification, gap assessment, audit results, discussions, recommendations and action plan.
