Senior Engineer - Plastic Parts Manufacturing

JOB DETAILS:

Qualification & Experience:

Bachelors in Polymer / Mechanical / Chemical / Plastic Engineering with at least 4 years of relevant experience. Master’s Degree shall be preferred. Candidates having experience in Plastic Injection Molding shall be an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

1. Awareness of plastics injection-mold fabrication processes.
2. Create and improve injection-mold machinery.
3. Research and develop new manufacturing processes.
4. Analyze manufacturing data and suggest improvements.
5. Analyze production and machinery line.
6. Ensure quality output of molded components.
7. Develop and design engineered plastic parts, inject molded parts and assemblies.
8. Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal resources.
9. Establish the parameters for an optimal molding environment.
10. Ensure environment to make plastics is appropriate.
11. Analyze quality control and correct flaws.
12. Work with other team members and vendors.
13. Create new reports and verifications.
14. Analyze mold flow, part advisor analysis, finite element analysis, and stress/fatigue analysis on plastics.
15. Create water diagrams and hot runner wiring schematics.
16. Enforce all health and safety rules and regulations according to state/federal laws and company protocol.
17. Prepare production planning for different plastic parts of gas meters.

Mechatronics or Electrical Engineer or equivalent qualification with 7-8 years relevant experience.

Develop or revise maintenance schedules after detailed analysis of workshop processes and take approval from Head Strategic Operations.

Responsible for planning and ensuring the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance activities of electrical and mechanical systems after the approval of Head Strategic Operations.

Ensure optimum operations of equipment on the floor.

Conduct daily meetings with the Maintenance Engineer to discuss progressive reports and give further directions on mechanical activities.

Ensure quality repair of electrical equipment on the floor.

Implement the usage of tools to plan all preventive maintenance activities for structured management.

Ensure that the In-charge dyes and mold shop develops mold development and maintenance schedules and follows these schedules regularly.

Keep reports up to date to meet routine and emergency requirements.

Review all documents received from designers/consultants/service engineers and generate a detailed modification plan to get it approved by the Head of Strategic Operations for execution.

Ensure that staff is properly using Personal Protective Equipment for personal safety and to avoid injuries.

Highly responsible for team coordination to prevent delays, confusion, and internal organizational politics.

Conduct quarterly meetings for setting, reviewing, and revising performance standards and KRAs of direct reportees, as well as conducting performance monitoring sessions as required.

Masters (Business Administration/Supply Chain) with relevant industry experience.

Manage and regularly update the Procurement System in light of the company’s procurement needs.

Liaison with Head Supply Chain to update Vendor Selection Criteria for the Company.

Monitor the Receipt of Purchase Orders (POs), assign tasks to concerned team members, calculate the lead times on each PO after negotiations with vendors/suppliers, and according to the procurement cycle of the Company.

Regularly check inventory levels of imported parts for next order placement.

Plan imports keeping in mind the material requirement timelines and time required for freight delivery, and search for suitable vendors accordingly.

Follow up with all concerns, maintain import updates, and share with Head Supply Chain on a regular basis.

Review shipping documents (invoice, packing list, B/L, FTA, etc.) and other certificates.

Ensure all import documentation is properly maintained.

Negotiate with suppliers, indenters, and clearing agents to obtain the best freight rates and services.

Supervise coordination with the stores regarding the stock of items in store as per re-order level.

Conduct quarterly meetings for setting, reviewing, and revising performance standards and KRAs of the direct reportees, as well as conduct performance monitoring sessions as needed.

Conduct (technical) selection interviews of staff needed to be hired in his department of the company.
