The Division

Huntington Business Systems (HBS) is a leading provider of Time and Attendance Management Software for small, medium, and large organizations across various industries. HBS delivers a fully customizable cloud-based solution with outstanding performance and flexibility on the market today. The software can be tailored to meet the needs of complex payroll policies and other unique requirements to reduce organization costs and minimize risk

The Position

For the HBS team, we are seeking a skilled SQL Database Developer with Oracle PL/SQL expertise with at least 3 to 5 years of experience. The candidate will have a strong background in database development and administration, as well as some experience with Azure deployment for database and server management. The selected candidate will work out of the Contour Software Karachi office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Roles And Responsibilities

Database Development: Write complex SQL and Oracle PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions. Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and schema refinement. Create new database jobs for different purposes (e.g., email recipients when any process fails). Hands-on knowledge of .NET Framework and C#. Database Administration: Monitor and maintain database health, performance, and security. Perform regular database backups and recovery. Implement and maintain disaster recovery solutions. Data Integration and ETL: Develop and maintain ETL processes to import and export data between systems. Ensure data integrity and consistency across multiple databases and systems. Collaboration and Support: Use Azure DevOps for source control, automated builds, and deployments. Provide support and troubleshooting for database-related issues. Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for database development.

Required Skills And Qualifications

Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) like SQL Server, or Oracle. Good understanding of Oracle databases. Experience with database design, normalization, and performance tuning. Experienced in writing optimized T-SQL and PL/SQL queries. Knowledge of Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, or SQL Server on Azure VMs and Azure Oracle Linux VMs (Knowledge of Azure Oracle Linux VMs will be a plus point). Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.

The Position

We are seeking a skilled Senior Database Developer with hands-on experience in SQL Server development and SSRS. The ideal candidate should be passionate about data architecture, reporting solutions, and optimizing database performance in a high-availability environment. The selected candidate will work out of the Contour Software Islamabad office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Build, deploy, and manage SSRS reports to support operational and analytical reporting needs.
• Collaborate with application developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.
• Optimize database performance by identifying slow-running queries and improving indexing strategies.
• Implement and maintain ETL processes using T-SQL or SSIS as needed.
• Participate in database version control, schema changes, and deployment processes.
• Monitor and assess for schema drift with a view to reintegrating the changes to persist a single master schema

• Knowledge of DBA concepts such as backups, restores, jobs, and user permissions.
• Experience in data modelling and schema design for transactional and reporting databases.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

We are seeking experienced and skilled Database Developers with 3-7 years of hands-on experience to join on-site our team as a Senior/Principal Software Engineer. Your Role And Impact

As a Senior/Principal Database Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions that support our healthcare software products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, utilizing your expertise to ensure our data architecture is robust, efficient, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Design & Development: Build and optimize SQL Server databases, with a focus on creating scalable data models and robust database architecture.
• Stored Procedures & Functions: Write and enhance complex stored procedures, views, and functions to support application functionality and performance.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot databases to maintain high performance and data concurrency.
• Data Integration: Implement ETL processes and support business intelligence initiatives through tools such as SSIS and SSAS.
• Data Backup & Recovery: Manage database backup/restore strategies, including replication, mirroring, and log shipping.
• NoSQL & Modern Databases: Utilize MongoDB, Cassandra, and other NoSQL databases to meet specific project requirements.
• Version Control & Deployment: Collaborate on version control, deploying changes seamlessly across QA and production environments.
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• Technical Expertise: Advanced skills in SQL Server 2012+ and experience in complex data modeling, development, and performance tuning.
• Preferred Knowledge: Familiarity with Big Data, Python, BI, and other evolving technologies is a plus.
• Certification: SQL Server certification or other relevant credentials is a bonus.
• Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex challenges and deliver effective solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fostering clear collaboration within and outside the development team.
