Nurse Manager, Critical Care Areas

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for supporting the division of nursing services in the governance, strategic and operational tasks, contributing to overall processes and work strategies. Your goal will be to optimize nursing care delivery by improving clinical workflow efficiency, enhancing patient care quality, implementing evidenced based practices, integrating technology and supporting data-driven decision-making.
You will be responsible to:
provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality and patient-centered care
show accountability for clinical excellence, team performance, resource optimization, and adherence to evidence-based practices in alignment with institutional care standards
ensure high-acuity patients receive timely, evidence-based interventions, including ventilator management, sedation protocols, sepsis bundles etc.
recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate critical care nurses and Rapid Response Team (RRT)
track and analyse unit-specific quality metrics like CLABSI, CAUTI, VAP, code blue survival rates etc.
ensure proper utilization of advanced modalities (e.g., CRRT, proning protocols).
coordinate with intensivists and consultants for timely interventions to ensure safe and quality patient care
oversee the effective functioning of the RRT, ensuring timely intervention and stabilization of deteriorating patients on general wards
monitor RRT activation trends, clinical outcomes, and escalation protocols.
provide ongoing training and drills to enhance early warning recognition and emergency response readiness.
provide performance reports to leadership (e.g., mortality rates, ICU readmissions, RRT outcomes).
participate in system-wide critical care nursing initiatives and capacity building
coordinate critical care during high census or surge situations in collaboration with Emergency department and BMO
provide oversight to adult Special Care Units to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and timely clinical care, maintaining continuity between ICU-level and general ward care, aligning clinical practices with critical care standards.
Requirements:
You should have:
a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited degree program, preferably a Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management or any other relevant discipline
valid registration from Pakistan Nursing Council
valid certification in Basic Life Support Instructor, Advanced Life Support Certification, quality and patient safety-related certifications, SafeCare Assessor Certification Course (preferred)
at least ten years of nursing experience, with at least five years of nursing management experience
clinical expertise with in-depth understanding of nursing practices, patient care standards and clinical protocols
familiarity with care coordination models, principles, and best practices aimed at improving care transitions, enhancing patient outcomes, and reducing healthcare costs.
excellent understanding of healthcare administration, organizational behavior, resource management and financial management, leveraging technology use and understanding of data and digital health tools
possess effective leadership and communication skills with ability to inspire, motivate and mentor nursing teams
ability to handle work pressure and meet stringent deadlines
