1. Design and implement comprehensive educational curricula for undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students in Reproductive Health, ensuring alignment with the latest academic standards and practices.
2. Develop and continuously update specialized educational programs in Reproductive Health to meet the needs of professionals in continuing education initiatives.
3. Lead the establishment of innovative research programs in Reproductive Health, secure funding through grant writing and proposals, and actively participate in ongoing research endeavors.
4. Identify and leverage national and international funding opportunities to support Reproductive Health research projects and training programs, enhancing the institution's research capabilities.
5. Advocate for policies supporting reproductive and child health, and gender equity, engaging with policymakers and stakeholders to influence decision-making processes.
6. Act as a pivotal contact for provincial and district governments, facilitating the translation of research findings into actionable strategies that improve maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes.
7. Develop CHS capacity in advocacy, research, policy initiatives, and cutting-edge research in reproductive health and related matters involving multiple disciplines within and outside AKU.

The Brick-Kiln Workers’ Health and Safety study aims to gain a better understanding of the health and safety brick kiln workers in Pakistan, particularly Sindh province. In this study we will assess brick kiln workers current living and working conditions, experiences as a brick-kiln worker including recruitment and hiring practices, and occupational health and safety. We have designed an intervention to improve the working conditions of brick kiln workers in Sindh.

This is a grant-funded contractual position. 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

• actively engage in research, with special emphasis on collaborative projects, particularly related to climate change, environmental and occupational health & injuries
• carry out major tasks related to brick kiln intervention study in the field (province of Sindh) including designing, implementation, evaluation and monitoring activites
• develop proposal and submit for extramural funding under supervision of senior faculty and in collaboration with international agencies develop independent research programmes
• write articles independently on assigned projects, under the supervision of senior faculty, and pursue publication of the same in professional journals
• participate in research studies with senior colleagues including designing instruments, collecting, analysing & compiling data
• co-author research papers with supervisor and /or other faculty members, where needed
• serve as a member on professional associations
• conduct and participate in assigned meetings and committees, primarily at divisional / departmental level 
• participate / support in committee work to provide services to the University

• a Masters or equivalent degree in public health or other health professional degree

• experience in carrying out field based public health research studies and ready to undertake field based operations
