ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:
- Assess the learning needs of nursing staff and ensure nominations and attendance for continuing educational sessions as per needs.
- Coordinate with the concerned for the implementation of division-wide nursing educational programmes.
- Develop specialty-based annual educational sessions as per monthly educational plans.
- Ensure completion of all Competency-Based Orientation (CBO) of new staff within stipulated time.
- Monitor credentialing of nursing staff and nominate them for re-credentialing if required.
- Meet with clinicians to discuss patient care treatment regimens and quality issues as per needs.
- Develop a plan of training, conduct formal and informal sessions, and re-evaluate its effectiveness in units.
- Develop courses and modules to enhance staff competence and monitor special assignments.
- Maintain and monitor clinical indicators.
- Set annual goals and objectives related to staff development of assigned areas and design strategies for nurturing first-line Nurse Instructors in units.
- Participate in establishing standards of care with unit staff and monitor delivery of care according to the set standards such as patient safety, quality of care, Health Care-Associated Infection, policies, procedures, protocols, and patient-centred care.
- Conduct clinical reviews and liaise with the nursing regulatory body Nursing Education Services at Aga Khan University Hospital and School of Nursing and Midwifery.
- Certify and supervise the clinical performance of the interns and staff.
- Perform the required clinical tasks depending on the patient’s acuity.
- Reinforce unit, division and policies and procedures.
- Maintain and keep the record of all clinical incidents and follow up in a timely basis.
- Consult with the Nursing Manager monthly regarding staff development activities/issues.
You must have:
- A Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited school and a valid PNC license.
- Certification in ACLS/BLS, Safe Medication Administration, Intravenous Cannulation, and Conscious Sedation (as applicable).
- At least three years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Excellent ability to train staff on skills and provide knowledge.

2. To verbally report to the CEO on the state of hospital services with daily activity reports and weekly operational management reports.
