Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research, and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region.

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has nine community-based field sites across Pakistan (including five in Karachi) and focuses on research for the betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that caters to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

This is a contractual position.

You will be responsible for:

• assisting in set up and maintaining all IT (hardware and software) related requirements of the Department
• assisting in providing basic IT support for team members and assisting end users in their interactions with the IT systems across different sites
• installing/configuring/administering desktop and notebook systems hardware peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.) and standard Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Productivity applications
• assisting in basic network / WLAN troubleshooting
• supporting in problem resolution and management of identifing incidents
• setting up equipment that will support meetings, and seminars that take place in the organizations
• reporting back to the Manager if any critical issues are emerging that may affect our business continuity
• keeping all IT Equipment assigned to him in safe custody with proper record keeping
• liaising with AKU ICT for active support to users
• other task assigned by the Supervisor
• monthly report on assets record.

You should have:

• graduation in relevant field or Intermediate with Diploma in IT or Equivalent
• minimum 2 years’ experience in relevant field
• resilience and ability to cope with work pressure and work in different times if required
• knowledge of administrative procedures in an organization
• good interpersonal and Communication skills
• ability to document tasks/activities
• good Knowledge of hardware/software with troubleshooting skills
• willing to travel to field sites.
