Full Job Description

The Aga Khan University Hospital is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

  • assess patients, develop, and deliver individualized Physical therapy treatment programs for those with medical ailments or health related issues that limit movement or abilities in everyday activities;
  • coordinate with the Physiotherapists and supervise them for their work load and assist to resolve the issues in wards/outpatient areas.
  • coordinate the in-house training program for staff and patients.
  • ensure for his/her own personal development by ensuring that continuous Professional Development remains a priority
  • perceptual psychosocial activities and instrumental activities of daily living 
  • assess patients for the need for adaptive equipment and/or assistive devices;
  • liais with medical personnel in daily ward rounds and with peers in the outpatient rehabilitation department to obtain relevant information about the progress/needs of patients;
  • educate and advise patients and their family regarding the diagnosed condition, the treatment plan, the expected prognosis and the short and long term goals;
  • participate in internal (in-house) and/or external training programs and research activities;
  • Interacting professionally with patients, families, peers, medical and health care personnel
  • write patient assessment and progress notes according to the designed format;
  • comply with the department policies and organizational quality standards i.e. JCIA.
Requirements

You should have:

  • DPT in physical therapy/ Masters in physical therapy from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of experience as Physiotherapist in tertiary care hospital.
  • Knowledge of physical therapy theory, techniques, and equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical therapy procedures and apply/use assistive devices/gait aides.
